Fins Up! Which Type of Dive Fins Is Actually Right for You?

Open Heel Fins vs Full Foot Fins – Which One’s for You?

Let’s break it down 👇

Open Heel Fins:
The all-rounders. Great for any water temperature and any type of diving—especially in cold water or areas with lots of coral.

Why? Because you’ll be wearing dive boots with them, which means extra protection. Tough, dependable, and ready for adventure.

Full Foot Fins:
Light, comfy, and super easy to use. Perfect for warm tropical waters or casual snorkeling.

Just slip them on (with or without dive socks), and off you go—no need for boots, no extra fuss.

Great for travel too, because they’re compact and lightweight. Kids and adults alike will love them.

👉 My tip?
If you’re just snorkeling, go for a pair of full foot short fins. They’re easy to pack, easy to wear, and they get the job done. (Link below!)

Scuba diving?
Both open heel and full foot fins work—totally depends on your preference and what you’re used to. Just one thing: skip the short fins. Longer blades = more power = less effort underwater. Trust me, your legs will thank you.

You probably already have a fin collection to rival a small dive shop… I’ll just show myself out 😂
